The 124th U.S. Open gets underway on Thursday at the historic No. 2 course at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina.
It's the third major championship of the 2024 golf season with Masters champ Scottie Scheffler, PGA winner Xander Schauffele and 15-time major champion Tiger Woods among the field of 156 players.
This will mark the fourth time that Pinehurst has hosted the U.S. Open, with Martin Kaymer (2014), Michael Campbell (2005) and the late Payne Stewart (1999) previously conquering the Donald Ross-designed course.
NBC Sports will have nearly 300 hours of coverage throughout the week over its broadcast and streaming platforms.

Who won last year's US Open?
Wyndham Clark, who had just one PGA Tour win to his name entering the 2023 U.S. Open, held off Rory McIlroy to earn his first major title at Los Angeles Country Club.
Clark, 29, fired an even-par 70 to finish the tournament at 10-under, one stroke ahead of McIlroy and five shots ahead of third-round co-leader Rickie Fowler.
Clark, who turned pro in 2017, had previously competed in six major championships and finished no better than tied for 75th. He won his first PGA Tour event in May 2023 at the Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina.
